Saturday Night Pool Comp

Looking for a fun Saturday night at the Club? Our new Pool Competition is kicking off every Saturday from 6pm in the clubhouse!

For just $5 entry, you’ll be in the mix for cash prizes, plenty of laughs, and possibly even a beer or two thrown in along the way.

  • Standard 8-Ball, Killer & Kelly Pool

Whether you’re a seasoned cue master or just keen for a social hit, everyone is welcome. Bring your mates, grab a drink, and get involved in a great new weekly competition.

TRIVIA IS BACK – Hosted by Phil Cornwall

Trivia is back at the Club and it’s going to be a big one, with Phil Cornwall returning as host — bringing the laughs as a comedian, the challenge as a trivia master, and if you’re lucky… a little bit of magic too!

Expect fun questions for everyone, plenty of banter, and great prizes up for grabs, including on-the-spot drinks throughout the night.

So grab your team, book your table early, and get ready for a great night out.

BIRDIES – 9-hole social 

Looking for a relaxed and friendly way to start your week? Come along and join the Birdies Ladies 9-Hole Social Competition every Monday morning!

The Birdies group is all about fun, friendship and a casual round of golf. Whether you’re new to the game or a regular player, everyone is welcome — no handicap required.

  • 9-hole social competition
  • Open to all ladies
  • No handicap required
  • Tee off anytime between 7:00am – 8:30am

After the round, the group gathers in the clubhouse for a well-earned coffee and chat, making it the perfect way to meet other members and start the week on a great note.

If you’re looking for a welcoming group to play with, the Birdies would love to have you join them on Monday mornings!

Balgowlah VETS – 9-hole Competition 

If you’re 55 or over, come along and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the Balgowlah Vets 9-Hole Competition. It’s a relaxed and welcoming mixed competition, perfect for a social round of golf and catching up with fellow members.

  • Mixed 9-hole competition

  • Open to players aged 55+

  • Tee off between 8:30am – 9:30am

Whether you’re playing for the competition or simply for the camaraderie, the Vets group offers a great way to enjoy a morning on the course.

All eligible members are welcome – come along and join the group!

“Mad Monday” 9-Hole Social Game

Every Monday afternoon the course comes alive with Mad Monday — a fun, relaxed 9-hole social game where laughs, camaraderie and catching up with mates are front and centre.

It’s all about enjoying a friendly round of golf in a welcoming and social atmosphere.

Teachers & Businessmen’s 

Join one of the longest-running social groups at Balgowlah Golf Club. The Teachers & Businessmen’s group has been playing together at BGC for over 50 years, creating a fantastic mix of friendly competition, great stories and lasting friendships.

The group welcomes players looking for a relaxed afternoon round and good company.

  • Tee off from 2:00pm

  • Friendly 9-hole social competition

  • Their own handicapping system and weekly prizes

  • Mid-week golf trips twice a year

If you enjoy a social round of golf with a great group of people, come along on Thursday afternoons and join the tradition!

“Swingers” Ladies Social Competition

Start your Friday morning with a fun and friendly round of golf with the Swingers Ladies Social Competition.

This welcoming group is open to all lady players and offers a relaxed atmosphere where enjoying the game and good company is what it’s all about.

  • Tee off between 7:00am – 8:00am

  • Friendly 9-hole competition with their own handicapping system

Whether you’re a regular player or looking to meet other women at the club, the Swingers group is a great way to enjoy a social round of golf to finish the week.

 

The Bally Bash – Fun Competition

Looking for a fun way to kick off the weekend? The Bally Bash is our relaxed and social competition that’s open to everyone.

Grab a partner and enjoy a fun and easy 2-Ball Ambrose, perfect for couples, friends, workmates, or anyone keen for a laugh on the course.

  • Open to everyone

  • Tee off anytime during the day until 3:00pm

  • Fun and easy 2-Ball Ambrose format

  • Only $15 entry

  • Big prizes up for grabs

After your round, head back to the clubhouse to enjoy a few happy hour beers and plenty of banter.

Junior Competition – Every Friday Afternoon

Calling all young golfers! Our Friday Junior Competition is the perfect way for juniors to enjoy golf in a supportive and relaxed environment. Designed to help build confidence, learn the rules, etiquette, and scoring, it’s a positive way to develop skills while having fun with friends.

  • From 3:30pm

  • Supportive 9-hole competition for juniors

  • $5 entry plus green fees

  • Chance to win a ball each week
